She will provide you with step by step instructions to create this whimsical ode to late summer sunshine. This art class is suitable for all skill levels. Join Health and Wellness Consultant Heather Carpentier as she shares how many common cleaning products can negatively affect our health. Heather will also inform you of the toxic chemicals and DIY ways to “clean up” your cleaning products and save money too. Deadline to register is August 12. Fee: $5
MEDICARE 101- August 18 at 1:00 p.m.
Learning what to do when you become eligible for Medicare can seem overwhelming. This class is for people who will be new to Medicare and would like to learn about Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D. Topics will include a comprehensive intro to Medicare, including what Medicare covers, supplemental insurance and Part D prescription coverage. Presented by Senior Linkage Line. Helping Paws Demonstration- August 26 at 1:00 p.m.
Have you ever seen a service dog and wondered how they are trained, and what cues and commands they learn? We will have a visit from a Helping Paws service dog in training and their trainer. The mission of Helping Paws is to further the people’s independence and quality of life through the use of an Assistance Dog. Helping Paws serves people with physical disabilities, veteran and first responders with PTSD, and facility dogs. The foster home trainer will be here with their dog to demonstrate what these incredibly smart dogs can do to help their human friends. Deadline to register is August 24 by noon.

MN LANDSCAPE ARBORETUM- September 21 at 9:45 a.m.
Share a bus with Monticello Senior Center and enjoy a beautiful day at the MN Landscape Arboretum. Enjoy a casual lunch in one of the dining areas upon arrival. A sandwich, chips, cookie, and a beverage will be served. After lunch you may explore the gardens and shop at the gift store. The group will gather back together for a guided tram tour of the gardens and woodlands, highlighting the many collections, display gardens and demonstration gardens. Following the tram tour you will have additional time to spend on the grounds at your own pace before departing for home on the coach bus. Deadline to register is August 16. Fee: $78
EXPLORE NORTHFIELD- October 12 at 8:30 a.m.
Share a bus with seniors from Monticello as you travel to Northfield to learn all about this charming town located along the banks of the Cannon River. First stop will be at the Northfield Historical Society Museum where you can explore the exhibits and shop for souvenirs in the museum gift store. Lunch will be at the Ole Store Restaurant featuring a contemporary menu in a charming neighborhood location. You will be served a Swedish Meatball Luncheon which includes a beverage and a cookie. After lunch a local guide will board the coach bus with you and give you a tour of the town and talk about the history of Northfield. The final stop will be to the Fireside Orchard and Garden Store where you may purchase jams, local cheeses, maple syrup, and other goodies. Deadline to register is Monday, September 20. Fee: $71
