Recycling and Organic Recycling: Tuesday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m.
April is Earth month and there is no better time to learn about recycling and organics recycling from Amanda Erickson, Environmental Coordinator for the City of Elk River. You will learn about what items you can recycle at home and where to recycle items that don’t belong in your curbside recycling. Amanda will discuss common mistakes in recycling and how you can become a better recycler. She will also discuss the city’s organics recycling program for food waste, which is a free drop off program for Elk River residents. After the presentation there will be a Q & A session about all things recycling. Deadline to register is April 26.
Healthy Living at the Farmers Market: Thursday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m.
Discover the market and all the offerings that will be available this summer. You will learn about the various programs offered and how the market is implementing ways to keep you safe while enjoying the market. There will be a door prize drawing with market goodies. Colored Pencil Drawing Class: Friday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m.
A professional artist from Rum River Art Center will teach this fun colored pencil class featuring delightful dragonflies. You will begin with a sketch and then add color, texture, and detail with colored pencils to bring your drawing to life. Complete your dragonfly with a background of your choice. All materials will be provided. Deadline to register is May 4.
Charles Lindbergh: Triumph, Tragedy, & Controversy: Tuesday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m.
In 1927 Charles Lindbergh became the first pilot to fly solo from New York to Paris. This feat made him one of the biggest celebrities of his time. However, his life following this historic flight was filled with tragedy and controversy. Join us to explore the complicated life of a complex man. Presented by historian, David Jones.
