Each year, Homeland Security and Emergency Management teams up with the National Weather Service to promote Severe Weather Awareness Week, in anticipation of Minnesota’s spring storm season. We’re in the midst of this important educational week, and TODAY (Thursday, April 7) statewide tornado drills will take place. All outdoor warning sirens in Sherburne County will sound at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, in 2021 Minnesota recorded 64 tornadoes and understanding what to do when/if this threat occurs in your area can save lives.
