Attention tennis enthusiasts - the courts at Trott Brook Park will soon undergo a much-needed makeover now that Northwest Inc. was awarded the bid to make improvements.
Demolition of the existing court will begin in mid-May, followed by the installation of perforated drain tile. This type of drainage technique is great because it keeps water from ponding on the court’s surface, ultimately prolonging the life of the asphalt. The existing light poles will also be removed and replaced with a more energy-efficient LED solution.
Northwest Inc. anticipates work to wrap up by July 1, which is when city staff will put the nets up, officially reopening the courts to residents. In the meantime, check out the tennis courts at nearby Highlands Park, (19550 Auburn Street) to serve up some fun this spring. These courts are also striped for pickleball, and the nets will be up by Friday, March 25.
