The public is encouraged to attend the Monday, February 7 City Council meeting and offer input on a proposed trail on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 33 from Hwy 169 to Twin Lakes Road (CSAH 13). The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at Elk River City Hall (13065 Orono Parkway) where a public hearing will be held to discuss the two-mile, 10-foot trail proposal on the south side of CSAH 33.
Sherburne County plans to reconstruct CSAH 33 between Auburn Street and Twin Lakes Road in 2023, and depending on feedback and council consensus, this would be the time to coordinate the trail into the county’s final design plans for the project.
If you are unable to attend the Monday, February 7 meeting, you are encouraged to provide public comment via email to Parks and Recreation Director Michael Hecker at mhecker@ElkRiverMN.gov to have your feedback entered into record.
The Elk River Parks and Recreation Commission recently recommended the City Council add a trail to the corridor, as it aligns with the City of Elk River’s trail master plan, available for review at ElkRiverMN.gov/TrailsMasterPlan.
