Over the weekend, Woodland Trails Regional Park was the target of two “smash and grab” vehicle robberies. ERPD is urging residents not to leave anything valuable in view inside your vehicle, whether it is locked or not. This includes purses, wallets, backpacks, briefcases, laptops, shopping bags, etc. Items like these draw attention to thieves and these crimes of opportunity can occur very quickly and often quietly as well.
If you spot anything suspicious when frequenting an Elk River park or trail, the best thing to do is call 911 and make a report.
