You’re invited to join local leaders and city staff for the long-anticipated Furniture and Things Community Event Center ribbon cutting and open house celebration, on Saturday, September 11 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Attendees will have an opportunity tour the facility, learn operational details, and celebrate with community partners. The event includes giveaways, free open skating, bingo with cash payouts and more! The Furniture and Things Community Event Center was completed in September 2020 as part of the Active Elk River park and recreation improvement plan. Because of pandemic health and safety concerns, use of the facility had been limited and the anticipated ribbon cutting and open house was put on hold.
The FT Center is on the same site as the former Elk River Arena located at 1000 School Street, and in addition to replacing and enhancing the two full-sized ice sheets previously found here, this state-of-the-art facility is now home to a 30,000 square-foot turf field house, walking tracks, the Elk River Senior Activity Center, Serrano Brothers Café, retail space, as well as event and meeting rooms.
Join us on September 11 to see everything the Furniture and Things Community Event Center has to offer, or visit MyFTCenter.com to learn more.
