Concrete work on both the skateboard park and splash pad area took center stage this week at Orono Park, as Active Elk River construction continues to progress. Fun fact – the crews working on the skateboard park use a spray concrete called “shotcrete” and they’re all skaters from around the country so they have a personal passion for their work! Check out a video and more photos on the Elk River City Government Facebook page.
The boat launch will open at 5:00 p.m. today, August 6, through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, August 9.
Please note, the beach remains closed and anyone wanting to access the playground and/or dog park can do so from the south side of the park. Parking is available for boat trailers and playground/dog park access along Gary Street.
Stay tuned for more updates soon, and be sure to visit ActiveElkRiver.com for details on this, and other projects.
