National Police Week dates back to 1962, and is a time for paying respect to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting and serving, as well as those who selflessly put the badge on each day.
Saturday, May 15 is Peace Officers Memorial Day, and while law enforcement agencies around the state will not be gathering in-person to stand guard at the Capitol this year, ERPD will be taking a moment to remember the fallen and honor the heroes in blue across the country.
