We’ve been getting some questions about the multipurpose facility and the timing for the public use of its amenities. Currently, the multipurpose facility is only open for limited ice rentals with minimal spectator presence. The field house is still under a temporary certificate of occupancy while construction continues. Like all other public indoor spaces, the facility is under occupancy limitations anyway due to the COVID-19 pandemic and State mandates in place by Governor Tim Walz.
We know many people enjoyed using the walking track at the former Elk River Arena and are eager to return with the new field house configuration the additional space in the west rink of the multipurpose facility. Like you, we are anxiously awaiting changes to the Governor’s orders and are hopeful we’ll be able to open the walking track before winter. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to explore some of Elk River’s many parks and trails to do their exercising while taking in the beautiful fall weather.
