Many of us in Minnesota are missing the State Fair this year. In years past, Elk River staff have participated in the Eco Experience at the Great Minnesota Get-Together as part of the GreenStep Cities program. Elk River has been a part of this program since 2010, which is a voluntary challenge, assistance, and recognition program to help cities achieve their sustainability and quality-of-life goals. Since the fair won’t be taking place in 2020 in the traditional sense, GreenStep has created a video series highlighting Elk River, and numerous other cities, previously featured at the Eco Experience sharing their sustainability accomplishments and future goals.
