The contractor working to grind and haul material at the Elk River Compost Site has resumed operations once again this morning (Monday, June 1), meaning the site is closed. With everyone’s cooperation, the contractor hopes to finish work tomorrow which will allow us to reopen the site on Wednesday, June 3.
Please respect the posted message boards and DO NOT DUMP while the compost site is closed, this creates safety issues for the contractor and prolongs the amount of time grinding/hauling takes, which ultimately results in a longer-than-necessary closure.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation! We’ll provide an update as soon as the Elk River Compost Site is once again open to Sherburne County residents.
