A recent City Council decision was made to hold in-person meetings effecting Monday, June 1 at Elk River City Hall. With the lifting of Governor Walz’s stay-home order on May 18, city staff members have been working to prepare plans to safely conduct business once again, starting with in-person meetings. Below are some COVID-19 safety measures that will be most pertinent to the public planning to attend an upcoming Council or Commission meeting:
- Visitors will enter City Hall through the main (west side) entrance and exit through the south doors (near the Parks and Recreation offices).
- Entrances to City Hall, Council Chambers, restrooms and the broadcast room will be disinfected before and after each meeting.
- Council Chamber gallery seating will be interspersed with wider spaces between chairs in each row. The number of participants in the Council Chambers will be limited by the number of available chairs. The Upper Town Conference Room will be available for overflow.
- Masks are not required but highly encouraged.
Meetings will continue to be broadcast on ErTV Spectrum 180 and on the city’s website (live and after the fact within 48 hours). The agenda for City Council meetings is available the Friday before a Monday meeting at ElkRiverMN.gov/agendas.
