Are you interested in filing for a city office? Serving as an effective city leader requires dedication, knowledge, and a time commitment. Elk River is made up of 4 Wards, with one council seat open for both Wards 2 and 3 in 2020. Open filing for these two seats opens Tuesday, May 19 and runs through Tuesday, June 2.
Filing for office is the process a candidate completes in order to have their name added to the ballot and elected to office. Candidates must complete an Affidavit of Candidacy and pay a $5 filing fee. To ensure health and safety guidelines are met in light of the recent pandemic, candidates are asked to schedule an appointment via email (tallard@elkrivermn.gov) to complete the in-person filing notarization process. Please remember a valid ID is required at the time of notarization.
