On Friday, April 3, Mayor Dietz signed a proclamation declaring a local emergency pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 12.37. This declaration follows the State of Minnesota and Sherburne County’s emergency proclamations and eases the legal procedures for contracts, purchase and public notice in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The declaration shall continue for no more than three days unless extended by the City Council. The Council will discuss the emergency declaration and consider an extension at the Monday, April 6 virtual meeting.
Residents can view Monday’s meetings on the city’s website (live and after the fact within 48 hours) and on ErTV Spectrum channel 180. Because City Hall will not be open, public comments can be submitted via email to City Administrator, Cal Portner. Please indicate in the email’s subject line “Public Comment” and include your full name and address to ensure your comment is included in the meeting’s official minutes.
