[ARCHIVED] Multipurpose Facility Time Lapse - West Rink Concrete Pour

Concrete Pour Time LapseOn March 6, another milestone in the multipurpose facility construction was accomplished with the pouring of the concrete slab atop the west rink ice system. The concrete floor adds versatility to the facility by enabling an opportunity for community dry floor events when the ice is out such as home, craft, boat and car shows, concerts or community gatherings.

As you see in this time lapse video, the carefully orchestrated continuous pour required meticulous timing and teamwork. The process began on the north side of the facility, where concrete was delivered to a waiting pump truck. Concrete was then pumped into the arena at a rate of 75-80 yards-per-hour. RJM Construction estimates 10 concrete trucks were utilized to cover the entire 1,700 square foot rink surface.

RJM Construction is continuing to work hard on the multipurpose facility, while establishing safety measures of their own on site to combat the spread of COVID-19. These measures include following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for personal hygiene, preventing crew who’ve traveled to Level 3 locations (as determined by the CDC) from entering the work site, establishing mandatory mobile daily sign-ins for all crew, delivery drivers, visitors, etc., and increasing sanitization of on-site restrooms, tools, and other equipment.
