As you may know, the City of Elk River has been working with local, county and state partners to proactively combat the COVID-19 pandemic, while ensuring the protection of members of the community and its employees. Essential services continue to be provided to residents despite most city facilities being closed to the public.
After careful consideration, city leaders feel it would be in the best interest of Elk River Liquor Store employees and patrons to close both Northbound and Westbound Liquor stores temporarily while we look for ways to provide this service within the social distancing guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health.
The city will reevaluate these closures as events unfold, and during this time liquor store management staff will seek possible service alternatives that protect the safety of employees and patrons.
The liquor store closures will take effect on Saturday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m. While we recognize that these closures will be an inconvenience for many Elk River patrons, we sincerely appreciate your continued support of all efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you feel the need to shop at our stores, please continue to follow the social distancing guidelines and consider shopping during off-peak hours.
