Heads up, everyone! The Mississippi River has receded and the previous closures of two Elk River parks are no longer in effect. Bailey Point Nature Preserve (1 Morton Ave.) and the boat launch area at Babcock Memorial Rest Area (17900 Hwy 10) closed on Wednesday, January 22 after an ice jam caused high river levels. Warming temperatures helped remove the jam and levels have dropped several feet in the last few days.
