[ARCHIVED] Sledding at Lion John Weicht Park

Lion John Weicht Park Sledding Hill AccessActive Elk River improvements are underway at Lion John Weicht Park, making much of the park and trail system inaccessible until construction is completed in the fall of 2020. Good news for those who enjoy the sledding hill at this location however, you can still utilize it this winter! Public Works staff members will keep the southern trail connected to the Boys and Girls Club parking lot off 6th Street (outlined in this map) plowed to allow for parking and easy access to the hill. Lion John Weicht Park’s northern parking lot (near School Street) will not be available, nor will the connecting trails allow users access to the sledding hill from that area.

Enhancements to Lion John Weicht Park are some of many that make up the Active Elk River plan and include two fast-pitch softball fields, modern restrooms, a 100-person pavilion, concessions and expanded parking.
