Compost Site Closure October 2-3The last several months have been very busy at the Elk River Compost Site and we owe a huge thank you to residents using the site properly, as well as those reporting illegal dumping. Without all of you, we may have been forced to close and we certainly wouldn’t be at material capacity at the site. We want to give everyone plenty of room to dispose of their fall yard waste and other items, but first we need a contractor to remove the tremendous amount of material currently there. This will result in a two-day closure of the Elk River Compost Site from Wednesday, October 2 through Thursday, October 3. We apologize for any inconvenience, and encourage residents to explore other yard waste and compost sites in the area if they need to drop off items during the two-day closure:

The Elk River Compost Site is located at 19000 Proctor Road NW, behind the Maintenance Facility. Compost site users must have an access pass which requires them to be a resident of Sherburne County. To learn more, please click here.
