At Monday’s City Council meeting, Mayor Dietz proclaimed May 7, 2019, Terry Mack Day in the City of Elk River, in honor of longtime Public Works employee Terry Mack. Terry began his career with the city 1975 as Street Maintenance Operator II, and later expanded his role into the maintenance shop servicing the city’s equipment fleet. As one of Elk River’s longest-serving employees, Mack has witnessed tremendous growth in not only the community as a whole, but in operations and technology – Terry was seen smirking as staff reminded him of the days when “salting city roadways” meant shoveling sand out the back of a pickup truck by hand.
On behalf of everyone at the City of Elk River, thank you for your 44 years of service to our community. Best wishes on your retirement, Terry!
