[ARCHIVED] Snow Event No Longer in Effect

Snow Event Lifted - Graphic WEBElk River’s Snow Event is no longer in effect and overnight parking is once again permitted on city streets.

Please note, plow operators were instructed not to clear roads from curb to curb, rather to leave snow 1-2 feet from the curb, while still providing safe and clear driving lanes for vehicles, but avoiding damage to residential yards. Most sidewalks and trails will not be cleared for the same reason - large equipment in narrow corridors where frost is no longer present can result in substantial sod damage.

Crews were however able to clear paths at Woodland Trails Regional Park and Great Northern Trail, in case residents are looking to curb cabin fever this weekend. Parking lot access to both trails is available at 20135 Elk Lake Rd. NW.
