Congratulations to Dawn Moyer, Elk River’s February Volunteer of the Month! Mayor Dietz chose to honor Dawn as an exception to typical nomination criteria which require active volunteer work, and instead honored her various roles in serving the community from the past several decades.
Dawn served as Chair on the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church board, as well as the Women’s Group board, Search Committee, in addition to coordinating the Sunday School program. She was also a corporate board member for Guardian Angels for 40 years, and was the Chair for the Strategic Planning and Health Services boards. Dawn was the founding Rivers of Hope (a free 24 hour crisis hotline) board member, was Chair of the American Foreign Services, and was recognized as the Trustee of the Year by Minnesota Health and Housing Alliance. Ms. Moyer also found time to volunteer with CAER, the Sherburne County Historical Center, Girl Scouts, and deliver for Meals on Wheels in the past.
Dawn Moyer, thank you for making Elk River such an amazing place – we appreciate you!
