[ARCHIVED] Snow Event in Effect Until Further Notice

Snow Event Graphic FINAL WEB

The City of Elk River has declared a Snow Event due to inclement weather. This means winter parking restrictions are in place prohibiting overnight parking on all city streets between 2:00 and 6:00 a.m. If plow operators encounter vehicles parked on city streets between these hours during the Snow Event, Elk River Police will be dispatched to ticket and tow, per city ordinance. Designated overnight Snow Event parking is permitted along the north side of the King Avenue parking lot. Nightly parking restrictions will remain in effect until the Snow Event has been lifted by city staff.

If you have a fire hydrant near your property, please be sure to clear a perimeter around the hydrant to allow for quick and easy access by emergency personnel. The Elk River Fire Department responded to two structure fires over the weekend where hydrant access was critical. Also, be mindful of trash/recycling cart placement on your collection day. Carts belong in your driveway, not in the street.
