[ARCHIVED] Snow Event Continues in Elk River

Snow Plow During Snow Event
The Snow Event in Elk River remains in effect until further notice, which means street parking is prohibited from 2:00 to 6:00 a.m. More information, including a map of designated overnight parking can be found here.

Plow operators have been busy over the last 48 hours – check out this snow/ice removal activity recap from yesterday. Public Works staff began plow operations at 12:30 a.m. on February 4 and have continued since. More than 75 tons of road salt was spread across the city as of yesterday afternoon (February 4). All priority routes were plowed 3 to 4 times during that 15 hour period and all neighborhood streets were covered 1 to 2 times. The city had eight plow trucks, three pickup trucks, and two sidewalk machines in operation throughout the day. Staff is working diligently to combat refreeze while getting the roads as clear as possible during the continued snowfall we’re now experiencing. Please use caution when traveling, and give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination.

We’ll provide updated plow activity when it becomes available! Be safe, everyone!
