Congratulations to Molly Ruby, Elk River’s January Volunteer of the Month. Mayor Dietz recognized Molly at Tuesday’s City Council meeting for her dedicated service to many community organizations and programs making a positive impact on young people. Molly volunteers with several youth sports organizations throughout the year, in addition to playing a role in promoting the Active Elk River local option sales tax referendum passed by voters in November. Molly is responsible for bringing the “Girls on the Run” program to Elk River, and is a regular fixture at Parker Elementary School volunteering in classrooms, fundraising for the school carnival, and organizing the Destination Imagination program. Molly also likes to spend her time giving back to the CAER food shelf, Feed My Starving Children, Salvation Army, St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, and the YMCA.
Molly Ruby, thank you for making Elk River such an amazing place – we appreciate you!
