Heads up commuters – MnDOT’s project team has started gathering updated traffic counts in preparation for the 169 Redefine project, which will convert Highway 169 to a freeway through Elk River. The team will be gathering traffic counts at 30 intersections along and adjacent to 169 over the next several weeks. The information (gathered through video recordings) will help engineers understand the current traffic demands of the intersections monitored. Commuters should not expect any delays associated with this data collection effort.
