Absentee voting begins Friday, June 29 and runs through Monday, August 13 for the Primary Election on Tuesday, August 14. Absentee ballots are available at Elk River City Hall (13065 Orono Parkway) and the Sherburne County Government Center (13880 Business Center Drive), during regular business hours. Both City Hall and the Government Center will be open on Saturday, August 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for residents to pick up a ballot, as well. Voters can also request an absentee ballot be mailed to their home by filling out an application online here, or by calling Sherburne County at 763.765.4351. Elk River Mayor, Ward 1, and Ward 4 are up for election, with Mayor and Ward 4 unopposed.
