Mark your calendars, tell your friends, and be sure to join us for Elk RiverFest on Saturday, July 7 in beautiful downtown Elk River. Main Street is the place to be starting at 4 p.m. with activities for the entire family! The little ones will have a blast at the Kids Fun Zone complete with inflatables, chalk fun, touch-a-truck, and so much more. Stop by Riverside Market, located in the parking lot behind Main Street, to browse vendor booths offering unique artwork, crafts, and vintage goods. Take your turn at the Slow Bicycle Challenge (we’ll have bikes on hand for people to use, or feel free to bring your own bike), where participants ride through a cone course as slowly as possible without putting their feet down. The Wacky Waterless Boat Race is going to be a riot so be sure to check that out too! Cardboard and decorations will be supplied, and residents will create the coolest, most colorful, funky boat they can dream up and race them down Main Street.
Wet your whistle at the Beer Garden, or satisfy your appetite at Food Alley, or at any of the awesome downtown eateries. At 7 p.m. head over to Rivers Edge Commons Park for a live performance by The Night the Music Lived, a Buddy Holly tribute band.
Finally, cap off the evening with an amazing fireworks display starting at 10 p.m. at Elk River High School. The fireworks will be visible downtown, but the best place to view the show will be Lion John Weicht Park, located at 1104 Lions Park Drive, or Salk Middle School, located at 11970 Highland Rd. NW. **Please note, different from years past there will be no fireworks display on Wednesday, July 4.**
