Expect changes the first week
Both directions of Highway 10 to be reduced to a single lane of traffic 24/7 between Joplin St and Upland Ave in Elk River beginning Monday, April 9. Crews will prepare the work zone and switch both directions of Hwy 10 traffic onto the eastbound side of the road. Once switched by April 9, reconstruction will begin on the westbound lanes and bridge over Lake Orono.

•Eastbound: Reduced to a single lane of traffic 24/7. Plan for delays during travel peaks hours, including
Sunday afternoon into early evening when weekend commuters return home.
•Westbound: Open to two lanes with periodic single-lane closures
Expect reduced speeds of 45 mph. Fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
Expect narrow, 11 foot lane widths, when navigating through the work zone. Semi-truckers should seek alternate routes when possible, and please do not attempt to bring oversized loads through the project.

Motorists may encounter periodic access closures or changes, follow signs. Access to businesses and residences to be maintained and open.
