We are asking Elk River residents to be cautious and safe while cleaning-up storm damage from this past weekend. City crews are out in full-force cleaning up the damage that is on city property and in the city right-of-way; the priority is ensuring that all roadways and sidewalks are clear. Residents and businesses are responsible for clearing and disposing of debris on private property; the city will not be collecting road-side debris that originated from private property. Debris can be disposed of at the city’s compost at 19000 Proctor Road which is 7 days a week 5:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Due to the excessive amount of debris from the storm, tree debris can also be left in the parking lot adjacent to the compost site for a limited time. No stumps or household waste (i.e. garbage, building materials, insulation, roofing materials, etc.) allowed at the compost site.
We encourage residents to check on your neighbors, especially those that are disabled, sick, or elderly, in the event they need any assistance. It is times like these that we come together as a community to assist one another.
