[ARCHIVED] Highway 101 Lanes To Close In Rogers April 23

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 101 in Rogers may encounter delays while each direction of the road is reduced to a single lane near the Highway 101/Interstate 94 interchange Thursday, April 23.

Each direction of Highway 101 will be reduced to a single lane for approximately four hours between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorists should plan additional time for travel, and slow down as they approach and navigate the work zones near the Highway 101 bridge spanning I-94.

The closures are needed while crews complete the I-94 Corridors of Commerce project in Rogers and St. Michael. The project will:

Add a third lane to westbound I-94 between Highway 101 and Highway 241
Add an auxiliary lane to eastbound I-94 between Highway 101 and Highway 241
Extend the deceleration lane from westbound I-94 to Highway 101
Improve the I-94 bridges spanning the Crow River
Construct a noise barrier
Make other improvements while lanes are closed for construction

Also, both directions of I-94 between Highway 101 in Rogers and Highway 241 in St. Michael remain on narrow, temporary lanes with a reduced speed. Motorists are reminded to slow down and navigate the work zone with care.

When complete in October 2015, the project will reduce congestion and improve the efficiency of the transportation system in the Rogers, St. Michael and Albertville areas.
