[ARCHIVED] New Downtown Parking Restrictions

The Elk River City Council approved a new ordinance on May 15, 2023, prohibiting on-street downtown parking between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. The restrictions are on Main Street between Parrish Avenue and 717 Main Street (south side) and 708 Main Street (north side) and on the western side of Jackson Avenue between Highway 10 and Main Street. Additionally, no vehicle may be parked on the eastern side of Jackson Avenue at any time. This ordinance is to support our downtown business climate.

Vehicle owners anticipating overnight parking are encouraged to park in the King Avenue parking lot or in the south lot near the river (behind Blue Egg Bakery, Occasional Fling Boutique, and Daddy-O's).

Temporary signage will be installed effective June 16, 2023, until permanent signage is available.
