Minnesota Department of Transportation Central MinnesotaST. CLOUD, Minn. – Highway 10 will close in both directions for four overnights at the Highway 101/169 interchange in Elk River to construct the northbound bridge deck above Highway 10. The overnight closures are scheduled as follows:

10 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 to 5 a.m. Thursday, July 28

10 p.m. Wednesday, August 3 to 5 a.m. Thursday, August 4

Westbound Highway 10 will detour to the Highway 169/Sherburne County Road 33 interchange, then back to Highway 10. Eastbound Highway 10 will detour to the Highway 101/Wright County Road 39/90th Avenue interchange, then back to Highway 10. Be alert and follow construction signs.

Nearby residents may experience some noise, lights, and vibration as crews work 24-hours a day. All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather permitting and subject to change.

Also, southbound Highway 101 is reduced to a single lane between the Highway 10/101/169 interchange in Elk River and the Highway 101/Wright County Road 39/90th Avenue interchange in Otsego. The lane closure is necessary to construct a new access lane between the interchanges along southbound Highway 101. Please use extra caution as motorists enter-and-exit or continue through the area to Rogers.

The work is part of the 169 Redefine freeway project from Highway 10/101 to 197th Avenue. When complete in 2024, the project will improve traffic flow, increase capacity and reduce bottle necks, and improve motorist and pedestrian safety along three miles of Highway 169 in Elk River, Sherburne County.
