Facility Closures and Conducting Business Online

Elk River City Hall

Access to the building closed to the public at noon on Friday, March 20. City staff will remain on-site and/or operating remotely until further notice to ensure the needs of the community are still being met. Call 763-635-1000 to have questions answered or set up a virtual appointment with a city staff member who can assist with your question/inquiry.

Meetings: 
City Council and Commission meetings will return to live, in-person meetings effective Monday, June 1 at Elk River City Hall. Meetings will continue to be broadcasted on ErTV Spectrum 180 and on the city’s website (live and after the fact within 48 hours). The agenda for City Council meetings is available the Friday before a Monday meeting at ElkRiverMN.gov/agendas.

Permits and Applications:
Planning and land use applications (plats, conditional use permits, etc.) will be accepted via email, and hard copies can be mailed or dropped off to the secure drop box outside City Hall (13065 Orono Parkway Elk River, MN 55330).

Licensing:
Licensing inquires can be directed to Jessica Miller, Deputy Clerk, via email.

Inspections:

Elk River Maintenance Facility

Access to the building closed to the public at noon on Friday, March 20. Compost Site passes cannot be issued in-person at this time. The Compost Site will be accessible to those already with passes daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. New requests for passes can be made by calling 763-635-1120 and a pass can be issued and sent via mail.

Other Facility Closures

Activity Center (55+) - Facility closed and all programming halted until Monday, May 4.

Elk River Arena - Facility closed and all programs including open skating, leagues, and access to the walking track is unavailable until building renovations are complete later this summer. Click here to learn more about the new multipurpose facility, currently under construction on the site of the Elk River Arena. 

Elk River Municipal Utilities - Facility closed to the public, with minimal staffing until further notice. Online bill pay is encouraged and messages can be left for customer service staff at 763-441-2020.

Trott Brook Barn - Closed until further notice. If you have a reservation scheduled for Trott Brook Barn, contact Parks and Recreation at 763-635-1000.

Elk River Library -  The library building is closed, however customers can continue borrowing from by using the new curbside service available here.
