2019 Street Improvement Projects

*Updated April 17, 2019 - New information in red*Street Reconstruction

2019 construction season is upon us and Public Works crews will be busy this summer with several mill and overlay and street reclamation projects throughout Elk River. Mill and overlay is a street maintenance technique that requires removal of the top (1.25 inch) of a road surface and the addition of a new (1.5 inch) layer of bituminous pavement. Reclamation is a full reconstruction of the roadway, where the entirety of the existing pavement is removed down to the gravel base of the street and replaced with new pavement.
