Mobile Food Units

Mobile Food Units, also known as Food Trucks, are self-contained food service operations, located in a readily movable or towed vehicle that is ready movable without disassembling and that is used to store, prepare, display, or serve food intended for individual portion service, or as defined in MN Statutes Section 157.15, subd. 9. 

Anyone wishing to operate a Mobile Food Unit in Elk River must first obtain a permit.

In the Downtown District, only one mobile food unit shall be permitted on public property located at the designated, signed parking area along King Avenue. Reservations are not permitted on King Avenue when the city hosts concert nights in River's Edge Park unless authorized by the City Council. Applications for the Downtown District are only accepted up to three months in advance and are on a first come first serve basis.
