Great news! All four of Elk River's outdoor ice rinks are open and ready to be enjoyed! Crews have been working overnight to flood the rinks in order to build the ice back up after recent unseasonably warm temperatures and rain.
Please remember, due to pandemic restrictions, the Handke warming house is not open, however there are additional benches and seating near the skating areas.
Handke Pit (1133 4th Street NW) is the most popular outdoor rink in town, featuring two rinks with boards, an open skate area, and a warming house which is not open at this time. Once open, warming house hours are as follows:
Additionally, this year the city is partnering with Spectrum to provide an additional rink with boards, a warming house, and lights at the Spectrum athletic fields (10129 181st Avenue NW).
