Fees

Rental dwelling application/license fees are established annually by ordinance.  Payment can be made by check, cash, or major credit card.  Renewals are automatically sent via regular mail to the owner or agent of record.

Annual Application and License Fees

Single family dwelling: $65/building/year

Multi-unit dwellings, including townhomes, condominiums, and apartments in which the building and all units are owned and operated by a single party:

  • $65 per building per year
  • $16 each individual unit per year

Duplexes and triplexes are considered multi-unit buildings. If the building and all units are owned/operated by a single party, a $65 fee will be charged for the building and a $16 fee will be charged for each dwelling unit.

For multi-unit dwellings (i.e. townhomes, condominiums, duplexes, and triplexes) in which each individual unit is independently owned and operated, each unit is considered a single family dwelling for the purpose of calculating fees.

Single Family Conversion Fee

A conversion fee of $300 applies to all single family homes that are being converted from owner-occupied to renter occupied.  For additional information, including an available discount, click here.

Re-inspection Fee

An initial inspection and one re-inspection is included in the annual license application fee (including initial applications).  If violations remain; inspections are necessitated by a valid complaint; or subsequent re-inspections are necessitated as a result of a previous unsatisfactory inspection, a re-inspection fee of $100 will be charged.

A re-inspection fee is also assessed for any “no-shows.”

Reinstatement Fee

In the event the Council takes action to suspend, revoke, deny, or not renew a license, a reinstatement fee of $1,500 will apply if the owner applies for a new rental dwelling license once the time frame of the Council action has passed.
