Parks and Facilities
Elk River Parks and Recreation offers a variety of recreation facilities for the community including open space, trails, athletic fields, playgrounds and indoor spaces. You are able to view all facilities and parks via PDF list or online.

The City of Elk River has 44 parks totaling nearly 1070 acres. These parks are in various stages of development. The city strives to strike a balance between development of parks and acquisition of land.

The City of Elk River also has acquired a conservation area, William H. Houlton Conservation Area totaling nearly 347 acres.

The goal is to serve the current population yet ensure that future generations will have wild and scenic areas to enjoy.

Park Master Plan
The city has adopted a Parks Master Plan that serves as a guide for acquisition and development of parks and trails. Athletic complexes serve the needs of both youth and adult sports. Elk River has a conservation area, mountain bike park, cross country ski trails and a biathlon course as well as the traditional neighborhood parks with play equipment and sports courts.
