The Environmental Division, which is part of a larger Community Operations and Development Department, has the role to maintain and improve the quality of the environment as it relates to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Elk River.
Division staff works to ensure that rules and regulations pertaining to the environment are followed and assists the Energy City Commission.
The division is responsible for numerous topics including some listed below.
2018 Spring Clean Up Day - Saturday, April 28th 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Maintenance Facility
Bring unwanted items to be recycled and disposed of properly. There is a fee for most items, cash or check payment only. Plan to unload your own items. Items not accepted include curbside recyclables, construction/demo debris, hazardous waste of any time or items from businesses.

Furniture and mattresses
CFL light bulbs
